On November 7, 2018, Consul General Tan Banglin payed a courtesy call on Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Madinah Province in Madinah.

Consul General Tan said he felt honored to be the Consul General of China in Jeddah and was willing to provide high-quality consular service for the further promotion of friendly exchanges and cooperation between the consular districts including the Madinah Province and the Chinese side. His Highness Prince Faisal welcomed Consul General Tan and expressed his willingness to provide necessary support and convenience for Consul General Tan to perform his duties. The both sides also held a friendly talk on promoting the cooperation between Madinah Province and the Chinese side.
