On August 11, 2025, Consul General in Jeddah Wang Qimin visited the Saudi National Center of Meteorology (NCM) and met with its CEO, Dr. Ayman Ghulam.

Consul General Wang Qimin stated that China and Saudi Arabia have a solid foundation for meteorological cooperation. China looks forward to further deepening collaboration with Saudi meteorological authorities in areas such as climate change, combating desertification, meteorological early-warning systems, and disaster prevention and mitigation. Together, both sides aim to make positive contributions to global sustainable development.

Dr. Ayman spoke highly of the recent achievements in Saudi-China meteorological cooperation and expressed his desire to strengthen dialogue with the Chinese side to comprehensively advance bilateral cooperation and exchanges in meteorology and climate change response.

The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
