On January 12, 2025, Consul General in Jeddah Wang Qimin went to Saling Port to visit Chinese team members of the China-Saudi Arabia Joint Archaeological Project.

Wang Qimin learned in detail about the work and life of the Chinese team members in Saudi Arabia over the past two months and extended New Year's greetings to everyone in advance. Wang went to the archaeological excavation site to inspect unearthed cultural relics such as pottery fragments and Chinese porcelain fragments and had in-depth exchanges with archaeological team members from both China and Saudi Arabia. He fully affirmed the work achievements of the archaeological team this quarter and pointed out that the Saling Port Joint Archaeological Project is one of the landmark projects of China-Saudi Arabia cultural cooperation. He hopes that the team members of both sides will take this opportunity to establish a good working friendship, strengthen technical exchanges and mutual learning, and continuously contribute new achievements to the cooperation between the two countries in the field of archaeology.

The Saudi team leader thanked China for sending a highly skilled, dedicated and responsible archaeological team, and expressed his expectation for all-round and in-depth cooperation in Saudi-China archaeology in the future.
