On May 3, 2026, Consul General Yang Yi paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz.

Yang stated that in recent years, Chinese enterprises have actively participated in the economic and social development of Mecca Province, achieving fruitful results in projects across various fields such as infrastructure, new energy, green economy, and environmental governance. The 15th Five-Year Plan and the Belt and Road Initiative are highly compatible with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. China is willing to work with Saudi Arabia to actively promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in political, economic, trade, cultural, and other fields, continuously enriching the content of the China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Prince Saud welcomed Yang to his new post and thanked the Chinese Consulate General and Chinese enterprises in Saudi Arabia for their contributions to promoting Saudi-China friendship and pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
