On April 27, 2026, Chinese Consul General Yang Yi met with Al-Farid, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in Makkah Region.

Yang thanked Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in Makkah Region for its long-term support of the Chinese Consulate General's work, which has promoted fruitful cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in areas such as new energy, infrastructure, and the green economy. As the newly appointed Consul General of China in Jeddah, he expressed his willingness to work with the Saudi side to actively promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including trade, science and technology, and culture, within the consular district, making new and greater contributions to China-Saudi Arabia friendship.
