On April 26, 2026, Chinese Consul General Yang Yi paid a courtesy visit on Prince Jalwi, Mayor of Jeddah, upon assuming his new post.

Yang stated that Jeddah has experienced rapid development in recent years, attracting a large number of Chinese enterprises and citizens to invest and live in the city, playing a vital role in promoting bilateral trade, economic exchanges, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people connectivity. The Chinese Consulate General is willing to work with Saudi Arabia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and jointly promote practical cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in various fields such as trade, economy, and culture to a new stage.

Prince Jalwi welcomed Yang to his new post, stating that the friendship between the Saudi Arabian and Chinese people has a long history and remains strong. Saudi Arabia is willing to work hand in hand with China to continuously inject new momentum into the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
