On April 26, 2026, Chinese Consul General Yang Yi visited  Jeddah Islamic Port, meeting with Anini, Deputy Director of Western Port Operations of the Saudi Ports Authority, and Mahwari, Executive Director of Jeddah Islamic Port, and held discussions with port officials.

Yang Yi stated that in recent years, Jeddah Islamic Port and other Red Sea ports have played a vital hub and key role in economic and trade cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia. China is willing to work with Saudi Arabia to jointly promote cooperation in areas such as port upgrading, smart ports, logistics, and economic park construction, making positive contributions to the development of China-Saudi Arabia relations.

Anini and his delegation stated that Saudi Arabia welcomes more Chinese enterprises to deepen cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the port and logistics sectors, helping Saudi Arabia improve its logistics network and strengthen its regional hub status.
