On February 25, 2026, Chinese Consul General Wang Qimin paid a farewell visit Governor of Jeddah Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi.

Wang thanked the Jeddah Government for its long-term support to the Chinese Consulate General's work, noting that in recent years, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia has continued to deepen under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, with closer bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cultural exchanges, yielding fruitful results in friendly cooperation. He also noted Jeddah's rapid urban development and prosperity in recent years, and pledged to continue to pay attention to and support the development of China-Saudi Arabia relations, remaining a staunch supporter of China-Saudi Arabia friendship.

Prince Jalwi thanked Wang for his positive contributions to promoting the development of Saudi Arabia-China friendly relations, stating that Saudi Arabia and China are good friends and partners with a long history of friendship. Saudi Arabia is willing to work with China to promote greater development of the Saudi Arabia-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
