On December 6, 2025, Consul General Wang Qimin in Jeddah attended and addressed the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) promotion event at the Red Sea International Film Festival, and visited the China Film Collective Pavilion. Over 100 film professionals including Red Sea Film Festival CEO Faisal Baltyuor, China Film Group Vice President Gao Shan, and Shanghai International Film & TV Festival Center Deputy Director Cao Yin were present.

In his address, Consul General Wang stated that China and Saudi Arabia possess tremendous potential for film cooperation. He expressed hope that SIFF and the Red Sea Festival would forge ahead in reciprocal film recommendations, technical exchanges, and talent development. Through the Belt and Road Film Festival Alliance initiated by SIFF, both sides could weave a collaborative cinematic network, adding luminous dimensions to China-Saudi Arabia Belt and Road cooperation.

Consul General Wang also inspected the inaugural China Film Collective Pavilion at the Red Sea Souk, conducting field research on Saudi film market dynamics and bilateral cinematic collaboration.
