On December 3, 2025, the Chinese Consulate General in Jeddah and the China Film Administration jointly hosted the "Jeddah-China Film Night" reception. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua, Consul General Wang Qimin, Executive Vice Minister of the China Film Administration Mao Yu, and over 200 guests including representatives from the Red Sea International Film Festival attended the event.

In the address, Consul General Wang Qimin stated: "Civilizations enrich each other through mutual learning, and peoples grow closer through exchanges." He expressed hope that Chinese filmmakers would use this event as a starting point and the Red Sea International Film Festival as a platform to showcase Chinese cinema's charm to Saudi Arabia and the world, continuously advancing new achievements in China-Saudi Arabia film cooperation.

Executive Vice Minister Mao Yu emphasized that China's film market remains open to global filmmakers. China encourages deepened cooperation between Chinese and Saudi film industries through co-productions, and welcomes more Saudi films for release in China.

Following the reception, film professionals from both countries engaged in dynamic interactions. The screening of the Chinese film Lychee of Chang'an received widespread acclaim from attendees.
