Notice on the Launch of Online Application and Appointment for Chinese Visa

To provide visa applicants with standard, convenient and quality services, in accordance with the unified deployment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of P.R.C, the Chinese Consulate-General in Jeddah will initiate the online visa application and appointment system from May 10th,2021. The specific arrangements are as follows:

1. During the COVID-19 pandemic period, the Consulate-General only accepts visaapplicationsfor necessaryeconomic, trade,sci-techactivities, andurgenthumanitarian needs.

2. If you meet the above requirements, as of May 10th, visa applicants are required to log on http://cova.mfa.gov.cnand fill in the visa application form in Englishonline. After completing the form online, you may enter the visa appointment interface byclickingthebutton of"Start to bookappointment",orafterwardslog on http://avas.mfa.gov.cn, enter your contactinformation and Application ID to make an appointment for visa application.

Applicants are required to submit passports and other required documents to theChinese Consulate-General withthe printed complete visa application formand signed Confirmation of Online Visa Application as per scheduled appointment.

3. To ensure the smooth transition to the online application and appointment, from May 10thto June9th, the applicants may still submit the old version paper application forms (Form V.2013) without online appointment.However, during this period, in principle, applicants are advised to fill in application forms and make appointments online. Meanwhile, the applicants of online application and appointment will enjoy priority services at the consular section of Chinese Consulate-General in Jeddah.

As of June 10th, the Chinese Consulate-General in Jeddah will no longer accept old version paper application form(Form V.2013) and will strictly implement the online application and appointment.

4. Exceptions to the above arrangements:

I. The diplomatic and official passport holders as well as those who apply for diplomatic or official visas do not need to make an appointment. However, applicants are required to fill in and print the complete online application form pursuant to the above-mentioned requirements. Applicants may directly submit the application to theChineseConsulate-General in Jeddah.

II. The visa application for HongKong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China will remain unchanged, and there is no need for online visa application and appointment.During the COVID-19 period, for enquiry of visa policies of HongKong and Macao, please visit the official websites of Immigration Department of HongKongSAR(http://www.immd.gov.hk/) and Public Security Police Forceof Macao SAR ( https://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/cht/main.html ) for details.

5. Special reminders:

I. If you havealready obtained the Invitation Letter(TE) issued bythe provincial Foreign Affairs Office or the competent commercial department, or the critical illness notice or death certificate of immediate family member, you can directly log on http://cova.mfa.gov.cn to fill in the visa application form and make appointment accordingly.

II. TheChineseConsulate-General in Jeddah only accepts the visa-applicants who  reside in Macca and Medina Province.
